Bridge Improvements

Spring Meadows Drive Bridge Replacement

This project replaces the substandard bridge over the Grand Glaize Creek on Spring Meadows Drive.  The cost of this project is being offset by an 80% federal highway transportation fund reimbursement.  The new bridge will accommodate two 12 foot vehicle lanes, two 2.5 foot shoulders, and a 5 foot protected sidewalk.  The new structure will be raised approximately 2 feet and will be longer than the existing structure in order to increase the waterway opening.  In addition to the bridge work, improvements will be made to the Baxter Park creek bank upstream of the bridge to stabilize erosion and improve creek flow characteristics.  The bridge replacement is scheduled to be undertaken and completed in fall, 2018.

Howard George Drive Bridge Deck Rehabilitation

This project will perform structural repairs and complete deck replacement on the substandard rated bridge over Grand Glaize Creek on Howard George Drive.  The cost of this project is being offset by an 80% federal highway transportation fund reimbursement.  As part of the deck replacement, the sidewalk will be widened to 5 feet to meet current standards and will be protected from traffic by a concrete barrier.  The roadway sidewalk either side of the bridge will be reconstructed to make it ADA compliant in accessing the bridge sidewalk.  When completed, the improvements will significantly increase the sufficiency and load ratings for the bridge.  This project is scheduled to be undertaken in 2019.

Lindy Boulevard Bridge Deck Resurfacing

This project for the Lindy Boulevard Bridge over Fishpot Creek will replace the bridge deck wearing surface and sidewalk concrete barrier as well as undertake minor structural repairs.  The cost for this project is city funded.  This repair work is scheduled for 2019.
