Spring Meadows Drive Bridge Replacement
This project replaced the substandard bridge over the Grand Glaize Creek on Spring Meadows Drive. The cost of this project was offset by an 80% federal highway transportation fund reimbursement. The new bridge accommodates two 12 foot vehicle lanes, two 2.5 foot shoulders, and a 5 foot protected sidewalk. The new structure was raised approximately 2 feet and extended longer than the previous structure in order to increase the waterway opening. In addition to the bridge work, improvements were made to the Baxter Park creek bank upstream of the bridge to stabilize erosion and improve creek flow characteristics. All work related to the bridge project was completed in May, 2019.

Howard George Drive Bridge Deck Rehabilitation
The project provided structural repairs and complete deck replacement on the substandard rated bridge over Grand Glaize Creek on Howard George Drive. The cost of this project was offset by an 80% federal highway transportation fund reimbursement. As part of the deck replacement, the sidewalk was widened to 5 feet to meet current standards and protected from vehicle traffic by a new concrete barrier. The roadway sidewalk either side of the bridge was reconstructed to make it ADA compliant in accessing the bridge sidewalk. The improvements significantly increased the sufficiency and load ratings for the bridge. All work related to the bridge project was completed in August of 2020.
