Howard George Drive Bridge Rehabilitation Project

The Howard George Drive bridge is scheduled to close on May 4, 2020 for structural repairs and complete deck replacement on the substandard rated bridge over Grand Glaize Creek. The contractor has up to 90 days to complete the project however it may not take that long. For more details of this project and other bridge projects please visit: -

Brittany Parkway Sidewalk and Drainage Improvements

A capital improvement project titled “The Brittany Parkway Sidewalk and Drainage Improvements” was awarded to Sweetens Concrete Services on June 25, 2020 through a competitive bidding process. The project is to address substandard sidewalk conditions and to correct a hazardous drainage issue on the south side of Brittany Parkway in the area from Auber Drive to the cul-de-sac. A new underground drain system will be installed under the sidewalk and the concrete sidewalk will be reconstructed to ADA standards. The project is expected to be completed by Fall of 2020.

Chadwick - Brookvale Terrace Relief Trunk Sewer Project Update

Construction of a trunk storm sewer to relieve chronic flooding in a portion of the Brookvale Terrace neighborhood continues to be on schedule.  This project is being funded by the City of Manchester and the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District. Construction on the new trunk line is expected to be completed in June of 2020. Once construction of the relief trunk sewer is completed, Proposition S street re-construction will begin in the area. 2020 Proposition S Street Improvements Update

A $3.1 million contract for concrete street improvements has been awarded to J.M. Marschuetz Construction Company.  This work is underway and will continue at locations throughout the city for the remainder of the construction season.  Additionally, plans are currently being prepared for the bidding of asphalt street improvements to be constructed later this summer.
