Creek Channel Streambank Stabilization Projects
King George/Mayfair Park Channel Improvement
Approximately 495 linear feet of an existing drainage channel to be improved adjacent to the back yards of multiple City of Manchester residents. Approximately 0.85 acres will be utilized including re-graded and replanted to improve drainage, halt channel incision creating stormwater pollution, decrease bank heights, reduce stormwater flow velocities and prevent erosion to the on-site and neighboring properties while improving the riparian corridor along this channel and the resident’s back yards. Installation and maintenance of all sediment and erosion control measures are in accordance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and St. Louis County standards. This project is currently in the engineering design phase and with construction to start in Fall of 2023.
Channel B Dinard Drive Improvement
Project consists of one (1) individual drainage channel area with one main channel. Approximately 270 linear feet of an existing drainage channel located on Common Ground area adjacent to the back yards of multiple City of Manchester residents. Approximately 0.46 acres within the Common Ground area and the residents’ back yards will be utilized including re-graded and replanted to improve drainage, halt channel incision creating stormwater pollution, decrease bank heights, reduce stormwater flow velocities and prevent erosion to the on-site and neighboring properties while improving the riparian corridor along this channel and the resident’s back yards. Installation and maintenance of all sediment and erosion control measures in accordance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and St. Louis County standards. This project was completed in April of 2023.
Hazel Falls Channel Improvement
Approximately 330 linear feet of an existing drainage channel was improved located on the Missouri Department of Transportation area adjacent to the back yards of multiple City of Manchester residents. Approximately 0.40 acres within the Missouri Department of Transportation area and the residents’ back yards will be utilized including re-graded and replanted to improve drainage, halt channel incision creating stormwater pollution, decrease bank heights, reduce stormwater flow velocities and prevent erosion to the on-site and neighboring properties while improving the riparian corridor along this channel and the resident’s back yards. Installation and maintenance of all sediment and erosion control measures are in accordance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and St. Louis County standards. This project was completed in December of 2022.
1521 Mautenne Channel Improvement
Approximately 220 linear feet of an existing drainage channel was improved located on the Missouri Department of Transportation area adjacent to the back yards of multiple City of Manchester residents. This project was completed in Fall of 2021.
