The Mayor with Board of Aldermen approval appoints new members to committees on an annual basis with the majority occurring in June with terms beginning on July 1. Each term is for three years.
Board, Committee and Commission members are expected to attend no less than 50 percent of scheduled meetings each year. Unless otherwise provided by law or ordinance, a Board, Committee or Commission member may be removed by the same process as they are appointed.
