Mosquito Control

Mosquito Control Services

The City of Manchester contracts with the St. Louis County Health Department for mosquito control services.  The services provided by the County include inspecting properties for mosquito infestations, sampling water for the presence of mosquito larvae, trapping of adult mosquitoes to track outbreaks and test for diseases, controlling mosquito breeding sites on public property, and the use of ultra-low volume mist spraying when mosquito outbreaks are determined.

To contact the Vector Control division of the Health Department with a mosquito concern, residents should call (314) 615-0680. Residents may also call (314) 615-4284 to hear a recorded message updated daily between 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. if and where mosquito spraying will be occurring that night.  When sprayings are scheduled, they may be performed in the hours immediately after sunset or the pre-dawn hours of the next morning.  When a spraying is scheduled, spraying in Manchester and other applicable West County cities and unincorporated areas is typically done on a Sunday night.  Additional information may be found on the St. Louis County Department of Health Vector Control website.
