Spring Meadows Drive Bridge Replacement
This project replaces the substandard bridge over the Grand Glaize Creek on Spring Meadows Drive. The cost of this project is being offset by an 80% federal highway transportation fund reimbursement. The new bridge will accommodate two 12 foot vehicle lanes, two 2.5 foot shoulders, and a 5 foot protected sidewalk. The new structure will be raised approximately 2 feet and will be longer than the existing structure in order to increase the waterway opening. In addition to the bridge work, improvements will be made to the Baxter Park creek bank upstream of the bridge to stabilize erosion and improve creek flow characteristics. Spring Meadows Drive at the bridge will close September 10, 2018 with the new bridge anticipated to reopen to traffic by November 30, 2018. All work related to the bridge project is to be completed by April 30, 2019.
