8 AM – SEEDLING GIVEAWAY BEGINS
Manchester is giving away FREE trees, until they run out, at our annual seedling giveaway (Blackgum, Loblolly Pine, Redbud, Buttonbush, Bald Cypress, Swamp White Oak). We will host a drive-thru in front of the Park Office.
9 AM – TREE PLANTING CEREMONY
Join us for a short ceremony as we celebrate Arbor Day 2021 with the planting of our Community Tree.

Do you have a composter but have questions about best practices? Are you new to composting and want to learn what it’s all about? Join Danielle Meert of Moshrooms as she demos a variety of composting methods at local community gardens in Manchester. Ask questions and get the help you need to jumpstart your composting! All Ages

Walk through the park with a Certified Arborist from Davey Tree as they identify common trees, talk about tree planting, tree care, and answer your questions! Special attention will be paid to the impact of Emerald Ash Borer on our Ash tree population. This program has limited space and pre-registration is required. All Ages

Then & Now - The Importance of Recycling
Reducing contamination in the recycle stream is still important! Join Joell Aguirre, Manager of Municipal Services at Republic Services for a presentation and interactive discussion on the most important practices of recycling. Joell will bring examples and empower us to be part of the recycling solution! Ages 18+

MOBOT Classes
Missouri Botanical Gardens classes feature Jean Ponzi, Green Resources Manager from the EarthWays Center of Missouri Botanical Garden. Jean is the manager of the St. Louis Green Business Challenge and is on the leadership team for the regional initiative BiodiverseCity Stl. All ages are welcome, but children must be supervised by an adult.
