Flags of Valor on Art Hill September 11, 2021
The Manchester Veterans Commission along with many other friends and parents of veterans are assembling our regional team to support this year's 20th anniversary of the Flags of Valor (FOV) Memorial. 7,600+ flags will be displayed on Art Hill this September 11. Each flag will memorialize a hero who offered their life in our country’s battle against terror.
Our local team has the important task of pairing up the 7,000+ individual dog tags with their heroes’ photos. We will be able to do our work prior to the event, starting mid-July, and can do our work using the upstairs at Manchester’s City Hall. We can setup, pair dog tag and photos and complete organizational output all while working at City Hall. Our work will need to be done by end-of-August.
If you would like to serve on this team, please forward your name, e-mail address and phone number to me. See below. There will be clear instructions with dates and protocols. There will be multiple work sessions, so your availability may be flexible.
From the Flags of Valor brochure: On 9-11-2021, America’s Heartland Remembers will pay tribute to the fallen by filling Art Hill. . . with approximately 7,650 American Flags. The Memorial will honor and remember the 2,565 victims and the 412 First Responders who died on 9/11/2001, and the approximately 7,100 US Military men and women who have been killed in theater wars on terror since 09/11/2001.
I invite you to be part of this effort.
